Brain-to-brain Coaching:
Coaching as
a method in its pure form and not as a motivational medium can help people
start thinking again, become observant and accountable for everything they do
or the way they react. It is a tool that can be used in any difficult situation
with its ultimate goal being, not to heal a trauma or to replace therapy, but
to enhance a sense of mental alertness, critical thinking, observation skills
and quicker decision-making, among others.
So what is brain-to-brain coaching?
Why and how can coaches help in difficult situations (and easy ones, too)? What
is their additional value during a crisis?
Define your role as an individual amidst
everything
Become your own
motivator
The world constantly
throws a lot of challenges at you. Others are more serious and others may be
less. Of the most effective ways to deal with them is if you understand you own
role amidst any situation. How you define this role. The responsibility you
have for your choices and reactions. And to always prepare for your role in the
next situation. This means you constantly need to disrupt yourself. To do so,
you first need to define your role as an individual. Time to take stock of
personality strengths, priorities, values system and key attributes as your
tools.

Develop your Psychological Capital
Positive Psychology
and Neurobiology
Keeping
your cool and controlling your stress are instructions that rarely work
out. For any one of us to be able to
stay calm and not be overwhelmed by anxiety of fear, or even both, a lot of
preparation needs to have been done prior to the emergence of a stressful
situation.
The PsyCap
has been found scientifically to be one of the best methods to develop
"capital" we can fall back on when the times get tough and use as “currency”
to thrive when the times are good. The PsyCap can be built if we build each one
of the four pillars that comprise it and which we will analyse together. With
elements from Positive Psychology and Neurobiology, the PsyCap could be a great
solution for dealing with Red Circumstances.

Strategies to build Antifragility
Thriving in chaos,
disorder and randomness
The notions
of fragility and antifragility were first introduced by Nassim Taleb (2012). In
short, fragility is related to how a system suffers from the variability of its
environment beyond a certain preset threshold, while antifragility refers to
when it benefits from this variability.
Which group we belong to defines how we
cope in hard times. Uncertainty, chaos, randomness and disorder may be
stressors for some but for others it seems to be their lifeline. To deal
successfully with a Red Circumstance, we need to develop as antifragile to a
certain extent.

Crisis Management: Practical ideas
Keeping calm with
lessons from Mowgli
Time and
stress management, worrying and frustrations, sudden changes in domestic and
professional status quo require practical solutions. Today we have forced
distancing from loved ones, we have our children around more and different
kinds of pressure comes to those who still have employment. We are asked to
navigate this new normal by adopting certain practices. These practices are
either not to our liking or we do not know how to apply them.
In this
final workshop we take a look at some practical ideas and some lessons from
Mowgli and the Jungle Book. Not just a story for kids, the lessons can be
applied in many difficult situations.
